Six-way valve for your filtration system
Every sand filter is equipped with a six-way valve, also known as a change-over valve. The six-way valve is connected to the top of your sand filter. This valve has not stolen its name. It was named because of the six possible positions that can be used.

The six-way valve therefore has 6 different functions: 

1. Filtering: It filters the water from the pool
2. Backwashing: It provides a clean filter medium in counterflow of the pool. 
3. Rinsing: Provides a clean filter medium after the backwash. 
4. Waste disposal: It carries away the waste from the pool. 
5. Circulation: Provides constant circulation of the water in the pool. 
6. Closed: In this case, no circulations occurs. When the valve is closed, the sand filter pump should definitely not be used!

Caution !!! The sand filter pump must not be operated when the six-way valve is closed!

The six-way valve should never be changed when the pump is still running. Always switch off your filter pump before changing the function. If you don't do this and change the function while the pump is still running, your six-way valve can be irreparably damaged.
